!!! GRENADE !!!
one thousand...two thousands...three thousands...four thousands...five thousands
Boom !!!
one thousand one...clear
Couldn't control the wide smile on my face when my grenade exploded.
I thought that is all.
But when it was bay 4 (Bryan) turn to throw...
Six seconds later...Eight Seconds later...nothing...
2WO VENNU (my bay safety officer): Haha...good luck
1WO SURESH ( COY 2IC from control): ok guys...relax
He had a blind.
Haha..that means the grenade did not goes off. So all the four bay throwers and Safety Officers got to continue to assume under cover position in our bay until the detonator moves in to place the C-4 to clear the blind.
So me and 2WO VENNU sat in the bay, he dozed off and I was doodling with my grenade safety pin and ring.
After 10 to 20 minutes, Coy 2IC 1WO SURESH announced from the control that the detonator is moving in. 2WO VENNU woked up and asked me to wear my ear plug and helmet properly as this will be a LOUD one ( actually loud is not the appropriate word).
1WO SURESH: Guys, prepare yourself...detonator moving in
2WO VENNU: (Wear his helmet) This is going to be a loud one.
ME: (Adjusted my helmet and ear plug) OK
1WO SURESH: IGNITED !!!
ME: ( LEAN AGAINST THE WALL, HANDS OVER NECK)
!!! VOOBOOOOOOOM !!!
1WO SURESH: Moving in to check.
1WO SURESH: Blind Cleared ! Throwers can move out now!
Me and the other 3 throwers get out of our bay and ran all the way out of the range...wide smile across our faces.
We swear the C-4 power is just undiscribeable. We feel its wave move through our body. Even others outside the range feel the wave move their No. 4.
Haha...Saw Super Puma heli-evac some heat stroke recruit from the stadium...although seen the Super Puma in action many times but its my first time seeing it doing real ops.
CSM teaches us to sing the POC song from Dragon Coy...nice song...We sing once in the Grenade Range with the grenade exploding in the background like some war movies...sing second time at
Coyline with gusto and everyone became so high that we sing the song through the night in our bunks.
Will never forget this week.
Perfect Army Week.
Kilo Sierra...Love my liVes
